Soapbox Sessions

The WINK Nudging and Beyond Conference aims to stimulate discussion about new directions in nudging research and practice by showcasing presentations on the effectiveness, acceptability and implementation of nudges in a variety of domains. On top of that, we would like to encourage discussion on new ideas on nudging. We have therefore installed a SOAPBOX session that gives presenters the opportunity to present their opinion on the future of nudges.

Wikipedia defines a soapbox as “a raised platform on which one stands to make an impromptu speech, often about a political subject. The term originates from the days when speakers would elevate themselves by standing on a wooden crate originally used for shipment of soap or other dry goods from a manufacturer to a retail store”.

We invite people who want to share their opinion on new perspectives in nudging research and practice to submit a 100 word statement so that speeches are not entirely ‘impromptu’. Selected speakers will have the opportunity to speech for five minutes in a Thursday morning session. There will be ample opportunity for discussion. Send your statement to conference secretariat before June 1.

Flash Presentations

We plan to organize an extra session of “Flash Presentations”. These will be short (10 min) presentations on fresh, exciting findings. So if you just got in some new results that you would like to share with a diverse audience, please submit your abstract by sending it to conference secretariat before June 1.
